2022 Yilan Art Self-Made Festival

The theme of this year's art self-made festival is "Feng Forest Volcano". The curatorial concept is derived from the military flag used by Japanese military commanders during the Warring States Period. Nature is a form of style and spiritual power. This exhibition returns to the starting point of craftsmanship and connects the relationship between art and land.
Lin County Chang Zimiao said that the park used to be the largest paper factory in Taiwan. Since the park opened, it has exhibited a number of representative paper arts. The self-made art festival is one of the three major exhibitions in the park. We continue the spirit of "self-made". , showcase pottery, wood, plant dyeing and other craft creations, so that the public can see the ultimate aura of craftsmanship from nature. It also integrates into the trend of art exhibition and performance through its self-made spirit, continues to market the unique culture and art of Yilan, and develops rich cultural heritage.

The exhibition includes Mr. Xie Wenqi, who is famous for his original "cut and then folded". 31 works including "Love", "Dancing Butterfly" and "Insect" will be on display. Mr. You Zhengda is good at meticulous court figure paintings and close-ups of actual flowers and birds. He exhibited 20 works including "Bird Paper Sculpture", "Paper Dress" and "Jing Sculpture Human Figure", showing the fine handicraft of paper sculpture art. Mr. Qiu Jianqing is the first person in Taiwan to create wood-fired pottery. He exhibited 11 pieces including the "Kavalan Spring Series" created based on the seaside erosion terrain of his hometown Yilan, showing his local feelings for Yilan. Mr. Lin Yuesheng is a big collector of rare woods in Taiwan. He exhibited 37 pieces of his collection, including "The Aura of Soaring Giant Trees and Mountains" and "Fantasy Works of the Creator". "Yilan County Yilan Dyeing Workshop Development Association" combines ancient natural dyeing techniques with modern life aesthetic concepts, and exhibits 44 pieces of clothing and large-scale dyeing works, allowing the public to experience the unique charm of "Yilan dyeing" works.

In addition, an experience workshop will be arranged every Saturday and Sunday during the exhibition period. Master artists and their students will lead the public to experience artistic creation, including "Paper Sculpture Experience", "Natural Dyeing Hand Making Experience", and "Paper Cutting Experience" , "Ceramic Art Experience" and other four major themes, and eight free workshops.
