On this day (22nd), the Yilan County Government held a press conference to mark the 5th anniversary of Magistrate Lin Zimiao's inauguration. Magistrate Lin briefed the community on the county government's efforts during the recovery from the pandemic, emphasizing the promotion of various policies to provide better welfare and services to the public. Starting next year, the county government will increase subsidies for childcare and expand the capacity of public childcare centers. Additionally, this year, the county implemented the School Nutrition Lunch 3.0 program, enhanced quality control systems, and upgraded the children's reading card to an arts and culture passport, enhancing the cultural literacy of Yilan's children. For the youth, the county government supports local youth entrepreneurship through various channels, offering incentives for stable employment and rewards for on-the-job workers obtaining technical certifications, encouraging the cultivation of professional skills. Regarding the elderly, this year, the Forever Young Canteen and Senior Life University have also been upgraded to version 2.0, allowing the elderly to enjoy a healthy and meaningful aging life.
Furthermore, the county government is actively expanding the transportation network. In addition to the Three Rails Convergence project to transform Yilan into an eastern transit center, both local and external investments are expected to flourish as the external and internal road networks are gradually planned and improved. Yilan, with its outstanding tourism resources, continues to create diverse and interesting travel experiences. The county government optimizes local tourism characteristics and moves towards in-depth travel experiences. Yilan spares no effort in environmental protection, leading the nation in creating a comprehensive waste recycling processing park to implement resource recycling and reuse. The county library also began construction in May of this year and will upgrade cultural learning spaces within the county. To safeguard the physical and mental health of the residents, the Yuanshan Mental Health Center was inaugurated recently, providing psychological counseling services to the public. All county government policies are based on listening to public opinion, and it will continue to prioritize the people and move forward, striving for a better life for the community.
