Memorial Hall of the Founding of Yilan Administration
The Memorial Hall is constructed using cypress from the Taiping Mountain with a fusion of Japanese and Western style architectural design. It used to be the official residence of the county governors and is now a heritage museum showcasing Yilan's 200-year history of county government. The spacious green courtyard and the dry landscape garden (枯山水 Karesansui) make it a comforting place for travelers to saunter around and experience the ancient architecture and the atmosphere of the past.
