Taipingshan, Mingchi and Qilan Forest Recreation Areas
Datong Township, with its lush peaks, is the best place to experience the beauty of the forest, including Taiping Mountain, Cilan National Forest Recreation Area and Mingchi National Forest Recreation Area, etc. Among them, Cilan Mountain Cypress Forest is the only giant cypress tree cluster in Taiwan. The forest has a great variety of tree species, interlacing waterfalls and lakes, seasonal color changing red leaves. Cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and apricot blossoms decorated the forest with dazzling colors and ambience.
