Uniting to Protect Waterways and Preserve the Environment: Joining Hands to Build a Sustainable Ecological Home

To unite diverse forces in safeguarding the local water environment, Lanyang Motor Co., Ltd. joined hands with the Water Environment Watch Patrol, the Yilan County Government, and the Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency today (13th) to conduct a water environment cleanup and ecological protection event at the Wuweigang Waterfowl Refuge and the Jialiwan Coastal Protection Forest. The initiative mobilized corporate partners and patrol volunteers to engage in waterway cleanup, ecological restoration, and environmental education, taking concrete actions to improve the waterfront environment.

To sustain water conservation efforts, Lanyang Motor Co., Ltd. donated NT$10,000 to the Wuweigang Water Environment Watch Patrol during the event to support operational expenses. This financial contribution supports the patrol in carrying out ongoing tasks such as water inspections, pollution reporting, environmental cleanups, and public education—providing tangible resources for local water stewardship while recognizing the patrol volunteers' long-standing dedication to the community. Starting from the water environment, the event combined waterway cleanup, ecological conservation, and environmental education through activities such as planting native coastal flora like Beach Cabbage (Scaevola taccada), removing invasive Myriophyllum aquaticum (Parrot's Feather) and Salvinia molesta (Giant Salvinia), and hosting Little Tern clay bird painting and habitat creation. Through these actions, corporate, government, and civil sectors jointly translated environmental protection into practice, fulfilling the shared vision of "clean water, clear shores, and thriving ecosystems."

The Environmental Protection Bureau of Yilan County stated that safeguarding the water environment involves not only purifying water bodies, but also revitalizing waterfronts and ensuring ecological sustainability. Moving forward, the Bureau will continue to engage enterprises, local communities, and water patrol teams to deepen river patrols, waterway cleanups, ecological conservation, and environmental education. By extending protection efforts from rivers to coasts, and scaling up environmental cleanup into mutual ecological benefits, the Bureau aims to unite public effort behind water conservation—making cleanliness a daily norm and sustainability a habit, thereby creating a vibrant and beautiful Yilan.
